No, you need to be a fully qualified domestic energy assessor.
During the EPC survey the assessor will check the overall construction of the property. They will collect evidence of the primary heating system type, lighting, glazing & doors.
The assessor will also check to see if cavity wall insulation or loft insulation is present.
Once the photographic evidence has been collected, it is then submitted as required by the Accreditation Scheme.
The final report is auto generated based on the evidence provided.
An EPC certificate is valid for up to 10 years. If you have undertaken home improvements measures which have improved your energy efficiency, within the 10 years. It is advisable to get a new cert, to reflect the potential higher rating before selling or renting.

Existing Dwelling EPCs are required for houses that are not new, and the methodology for Energy Rating calculation is RdSAP.
The government requires a different methodology for the production of EPCs of new builds. It is called full SAP calculation or New Build EP
